Itinerary

Your journey begins as you board a flight from Kathmandu, Nepal to Paro, Bhutan. The flight offers stunning aerial views of the Himalayan peaks, including the majestic Mount Everest, as you make your way to Paro, the gateway to Bhutan. Upon arrival in Paro, you will be greeted by the Bhutanese hospitality and transferred to your accommodation.

After breakfast, you will embark on a sightseeing tour of Paro, exploring its cultural and historical treasures. You can visit the iconic Paro Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery known for its stunning architecture and vibrant festivals. Inside the dzong, you can admire the intricate artwork and learn about its historical significance.

You can also visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in a former watchtower, where you can gain insights into Bhutanese art, history, and culture. In the evening, you can take a leisurely stroll through the charming streets of Paro, soaking in the local atmosphere.

Today, you have two options to choose from. You can embark on an exciting excursion to the famous Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger's Nest. This sacred monastery clings to a cliffside and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys. The hike to Taktsang is invigorating and takes you through scenic trails, passing waterfalls and prayer flags along the way.

Alternatively, you can take a drive to Chelila Pass, which offers panoramic views of the Himalayas and the Paro Valley. The pass is adorned with prayer flags fluttering in the wind, creating a serene and spiritual ambiance. You can enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the beautiful landscapes and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the region.

After breakfast, you will proceed to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. In Thimphu, you can visit the impressive Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the Bhutanese government and a center for religious and administrative activities. You can also explore the King's Memorial Chorten, a landmark stupa dedicated to the third king of Bhutan.

Other attractions in Thimphu include the National Folk Heritage Museum, where you can learn about Bhutanese rural life, and the National Textile Museum, which showcases Bhutan's rich weaving traditions. In the evening, you can take a stroll along the lively streets of Thimphu and immerse yourself in the local culture.

On this day, you will embark on an excursion to Gangtay, a beautiful valley located in the Wangdue Phodrang District. Gangtay is known for its picturesque landscapes and the Gangtay Monastery, an important seat of the Pema Lingpa lineage of the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism.

You can explore the serene valley, take a nature walk, and witness the black-necked cranes that migrate to Gangtay during the winter months. The valley offers a peaceful retreat amidst the pristine natural beauty of Bhutan.

You will spend another day in Thimphu, allowing you to further explore the city's attractions and immerse yourself in its unique charm. You can visit the Buddha Dordenma, a colossal statue of Buddha that overlooks the city and offers panoramic views of Thimphu Valley. You can also explore the bustling local markets, where you can find traditional Bhutanese handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs.

In the evening, you can savor the local cuisine and enjoy traditional Bhutanese performances, including mask dances and folk music.

You will return to Paro and have the opportunity to revisit any sites you wish to explore further. You can stroll through the quaint streets, visit local handicraft shops, or simply relax and soak in the peaceful ambiance of Paro.

After breakfast, it will be time for your final departure from Bhutan. You will be transferred to the Paro International Airport for your onward journey, taking with you cherished memories of the enchanting kingdom of Bhutan.
